The Deergrass is a warm-season perennial that forms dense clumps from the base. The spike-like flower stalks grow 2'-3' tall and this grass has a striking foundation form. The Deergrass is native to California and needs watering once or twice a month after it has been established. The more water it has, the greener it is.

The California sagebrush is an evergreen medium sized, gray green aromatic shrub. The foliage has wispy soft texture.This shrub is native to CA, is drought tolerant, and attracts butterflies. This is a highly combustible plant.

Silver Wormwood

Common name:Silver Wormwood
Botanical name:Artemisia arborescens

Silver wormwood is a fast growing shrub to 6' tall by 8' wide. Soft, silvery foliage is a good contrast to the dull yellow flowers produced in spring. It is tolerant of a wide range of climates and soil conditons although it is a little cold tolerant to 25 degrees F.

Toyon

Toyon is a California native evergreen shrub that grows 8'-15' high and spreading 2'-3'. It has leathery toothed leaves, white summer flowers and clusters of red winter berries. It tolerates full sun or partial shade, heat, smog, wind and heavy or light soils. It is drought tolerant, attracts beneficial insects and hummingbirds.

Dwarf Coyote Bush

Botanical name:Baccharis pilularis

The pilularis is a low maintenance, reliable evergreen ground cover. It benefits from pruning in the spring. However, the cottony seeds from the female plant can be messy.

Italian Cypress

Common name:Italian Cypress
Botanical name:Cupressus sempervirens 'Stricta'

Italian Cypress is often associated with Italian and Spanish architecture, providing columns in the landscape. They often reach 60' tall. 'Stricta' is compact, columnar and produces long, straight branches with deep green foliage.
